My wife and I wanted a nice getaway we could actually take on a weekend. Somewhere close enough to leave on a Friday afternoon but still feel like a real escape. So we decided to build it ourselves.

Stone Leaf is a couples-only cabin tucked away on five quiet acres in Franklinton, Louisiana, about 90 minutes from New Orleans and under two hours from Baton Rouge.  We paired Japanese design with the mid-century style to bring something completely new to the Southern  Louisiana area. Warm wood, big windows looking out over the pond, and a private hot tub and sauna.

Sleep in. Sit outside with your coffee. Watch the birds. It's just the two of you and a whole lot of quiet. A romantic getaway, no plane ticket required.
